Upholstered

I was excited to go home after work yesterday.  For a few weeks now, I've been eyeing some upholstery swatch books in a corner of the lounge area.  Finally today, I got the courage to ask a senior staff member if they are being used.  Guess what?  She said no.  Those swatch books have been laying there for several years and nobody has touched them.  She said I can have them if I want.

And because I was shy, I took home just 4 swatch books:

On the way home, I was already thinking on how I can use them for my cards at least.  I know I can make other projects with them, but I just had to start with cards.  For sure the Spellbinders dies will not work, but the Big Shot and Sizzix dies will.

Because I was short for time, I quickly picked one design and cut it with a regular Sizzix die by tim Holtz.  I was right.  I was able to cut a perfect shape.  And basing from that specific cut, I was able to make this card:

Materials used:
cardstock/dp:  @TheOffice, Recollections, leftovers
image/sentiment:  Our Daily Bread Designs
ink:  Tsukineko, Ranger
tools:  Sizzix, Spellbinders
embellishments:  rhinestones, Robin's Nest
misc.:  embossing powder (Ranger), upholstery swatch
adhesive:  Scotch, Zots, Glue Dots, mounting tape

I'm also entering this card in the Our Daily Bread Designs' Anything Goes Challenge (ODBDSLC90).  This challenge is extra special as they welcome their 5 new challenge team members.  You can meet them by clicking here.

'Til next blog!
