I was very happy when I received a call last night that we won't have school today because of the weather and road conditions. Yesterday, we had a snow storm and driving home was hard. I was driving at 35 mph and even at that speed, I still fish tailed a little bit. The snow on the roads made it difficult to drive. I was so relieved to arrive home in one piece.
So today, I made sure to do chores, bake some brownies, cook a dish and of course, play in my craft room. It's perfect timing for me to make something for Unity Stamp Co.'s challenge called "New Beginnings". And because I was inspired by Susan Rothamel's demo of her Dicro Fiber on HSN the other day, I decided to play with it.
The theme that was running in my mind was something fantasy or nostalgic like. So I ended up using stamps from the Just You KOM for March 2011. I used Dicro Fiber as my background, and my images were embossed.
I also added Prills (another favorite US Art Quest product!) for finishing touches.
Materials used:
cardstock/dp: Wassau
image/sentiment: Unity
ink: Tsukineko, metallic rub-ons
tools: Spellbinders, Janome Sew Mini, Uchida corner punch, Martha Stewart score tool, Tulip mini iron, heat gun
embellishments: US Art Quest (Dicro Fiber, Prills), rhinestones, ribbon
misc.: Ranger embossing powder
adhesive: Scotch, Glue Dots, US Art Quest
Unity's "New Beginnings" challenge will run for about 4 weeks, so there's lots of time to join.
'Til next blog!
