Happy Freakin' Birthday

The birthday card I'm showing you today is a collaboration with my DH.... somehow.  I made him pick the sentiments to use for the card, since it's for his baby sister.  Yeah, that's DH's share in making the card.  I would consider that a huge step.  Hehe.

As usual, it was hard to pick the colors to use.  Because of my card orientation, I had to make a matching envelope.  And the dp I used for the envelope became my basis for the colors of the card.

You know what my favorite part of the card is?  It's the zig zag stitching in the bottom.

Brain Fart

I can't even think of how to start this blog entry.  Well, you may have noticed that I haven't updated my blog as often.  I guess I really am having some type of crafter's block.  Or my craft muse went on vacation to some place warm. 

The past couple of nights, I was just staring at my stamps, trying to squeeze my mind for ideas and of what to make.  The staring didn't work.  I tried to browse through magazines and books, and that didn't work either.

Maybe somebody can invent some sort of candy bar that can spark creativity. 

Anyway, it's that time of the week again - Creative Vision time!  What better way to beat crafter's block by making something that doesn't require a lot of embellishments.

Creative Vision DT5 Blog Hop

Origami is one of my favorite kind of paper craft, and this particular one is called the calendar wreath.  The stamp I used is from one of the Creative Vision new releases called "Sassy Birthday".  It's double sided, and each side is a mirror image of the other.  You can say it's an ornament you can hang on the rear view mirror of your car, or on the window and even the christmas tree.

National Craft Month (Day 31)

National Craft Month (Day 3)

Hello crafty friends!  For day 3 of NCM, I would like to share a card I made for Creative Vision.  It's a shaker card that I can say is out of the ordinary, which showcases a couple of stamps from the  Sassy Happy Birthday II set.  

You can say this card is sassier than normal, but I'm hoping that it will make somebody smile, if not laugh.

Catch of the Day

Hello everyone!  Time sure flies...  it's already been 4 weeks since I became a part of Creative Vision's Design Team 5.  Woot!  Again, I would like to thank Ms. Laura for giving me a chance to share my talent through her wonderful stamps.

I Just came back from a 9-day vacation down in warm and sunny Florida.  During our trip, we bought a pack of key lime taffy, which was my inspiration for today's project:

The heat embossed image and sentiment are from the Hooked On Fishing set.
  

Meanwhile, the paper bowl is a type of origami, made from a sheet of 8 x 8 cardstock.  I focused on tropical colors to remind me of the nice and sunny weather from way down south.

Hooked On Fishing

Hello everyone!  How's the weather in your location?  It has been very cold, snowy and windy in our part of Northern Michigan.  You may find this funny, but despite that, I still like winter.  However I'm starting to miss summer and a lot of fun activities we do during that time of the year.

Those are the things I was thinking of while making this card.  I was picturing weathered wood on the beach with fishermen's nets hanging on it.  And the stamps from Hooked On Fishing set was perfect for what I wanted to depict.

Pills?

Hello everyone!  Today marks my second week with Creative Vision, and here is a card I made which features a stamp from the Sassy Happy Birthday II set.  If you want something out of the box, this is it.  It's one of the reaons why I like this set a lot.

I made my pills by cutting pieces from a piece of leftover dp.  I cut some of the pills in half, which I then adhered to some of the pills to achieve the capsule look.
