Latest Cross Stitch Project

Happy Saturday, dear reader!  I have a question for you.  What do you have in the background while you are crafting?  I usually watch Filipino shows online while I play in my craft room.  It has become a habit of mine, as I don't like to just sit and watch.  When I'm in front of the TV, I would often work on a cross stitch or crochet project.

Ok, too much blabber... let me just show you my latest cross-stich project that I finished yesterday.

It is called the Fractal 229 Bookmark from Cross-Stitch Collectibles, my favorite cross-stitch website.  This pattern is one of their monthly freebies, and is also their second pattern that I finished, the first being Bend In The Road by Cezanne.  Because I wasn't so diligent in doing this project, it took me almost 2 years to finish.

Well, I still haven't figured out what cross-stitch pattern to do next, but I'm thinking of something patriotic.

And if you're not busy, please check out my other cross-stitch projects by clicking here.

Something Different

Happy Saturday, dear reader!  I have a question for you.  What do you have in the background while you are crafting?  I usually watch Filipino shows online while I play in my craft room.  It has become a habit of mine, as I don't like to just sit and watch.  When I'm in front of the TV, I would often work on a cross stitch or crochet project.

Speaking of which, as some of you may already know, I like to do other kinds of crafts like beading, quilting, crochet, stained glass, cross stitching, and I also tried ceramics.  I still would like to learn more if given the chance.

Ok, too much blabber... let me just show you my latest cross-stich project that I finished yesterday.

National Craft Month DAY 14 and 15

I dedicated this weekend in finishing my years old cross-stitch project.  The title is Bend in the Road, one of Cezanne's popular paintings.  I got the pattern free from Cross Stitch Collectibles, also years ago.  I started this project back when we were still stationed in Japan, immediately after I finished another long-term project Midnight Horses.  For the record, we've moved here in the US almost 2 years ago, so you can imagine how old this project was.  I have so many reasons why it took that long, but "laziness" topped it all.  That's why I was really determined to finish it before I go to bed tonight.

And I did.

The size of this one is 17.5 by 23.5 inches.

Here's the last stitch which took place at about 12:20 am.  What my next cross-stitch project will be, I still don't know.  But this time, I want to do a smaller one, so it won't take as long to make.  But not too small, because I don't find them challenging.  Cross-stitching does require a lot of patience.

Thursday is my Cross Stitch Day

I'm doing a pretty good job in following the schedule I made for myself when it comes to my many hobbies.  Today is cross stitch day.

I woke up early this morning and seeing the sunlight striking the white snow made my day.  I love the way the snow sparkles like gazillions of diamonds on the ground.  I opened the blinds and slid the curtains to the side and the whole inside of the house was just nice and bright.  Perfect time to do some cross-stitching.

This project I'm working on is "Bend In The Road" by the famous Cezanne.  I got the pattern for free at The Cross Stitch Collectibles many many months ago.  In fact, we were still in Japan.  I started doing this pattern soon after I finished my Midnight Horses, which took me over two years to finish.  After Midnight Horses, I told myself, my next cross stitch project would be something of color, and a little smaller.  I started "Bend In The Road" just a few months before we left Japan.  And crazy me, this project was packed along with all our stuff.  So I didn't see this project for almost a year.  I was very happy to see it when we were opening boxes, and I started cross stitching right away.  Well, you can see in the photo how it looks like for now, and how it should look like when finished.

Going back to Cross Stitch Collectibles, this is the only cross stitch website I go to.  I like their patterns a lot.  A lot of popular paintings too.  I'm just not into cross stitching cartoon characters.  Cross Stitch Collectibles gives a free pattern every month.  I actually like their free pattern for February.  They have so many beautiful patterns that I'd like to buy them all.  But the question is, if it takes me years to finish one darn project, when will I ever finish all the patterns that I want to buy.  And I don't want to just cross stitch all day everyday.  I still have a lot of hobbies to attend to.

Sigh.  So little time.
