Here

How's your Monday so far?  I can't believe we're almost halfway to the second month of the year, and then it's Valentine's Day already.  I guess it's true what they say - time flies faster as you get older.  Somehow, I still think I'm in my younger years.  I have to remind myself that I am getting older.

Anyway, here's the last card of from my Joann's and Meijer loot.  This one's very simple, but I'm really liking the effect of Smooch Spritz.  I should use it more often.  There are a lot of things in my planet that need to be used more often.  And believe me, I'm trying to start :)

You Rock

Happy Saturday!  Time for more play in my planet.  However, that's after I finish "real" household chores.  Laundry is in progress, and I'm about to start vacuuming the carpets and tidying up the kitchen.

But before that, let me share with you Card No. 5 from my Joann's and Meijer loot.

This is not the first time I used this embossing folder, and everytime I use it, I love it more and more!

Have a great weekend... 'til next blog!

Heck

In case you missed it, you can see the previous three cards by clicking on the following:
This fourth card is one of my faves.  I love how the bleeding of the coloring actually went well with the overall theme of the card.

OMG

Today's card is the third of a series made with my Joann's and Meijer loot.  This stamp is originally a dollar at Joann's but I got it on clearance with additional discount, so I ended up paying only 35 cents.  The first card is called ME, which you can see by clicking here.  And the second card is DANG, which you can see here.

What I love about this card is the no planning involved.  I kept with the rugged look of the embossed background, and added tearing on the silver washi tape.  It gave the look of a card made in a rush because you suddenly remembered somebody's birthday.

Dang

Happy Wednesday!

Here's the second card from my Joann's and Meijer's haul.  I love how the silver accents go well with the washi tape I used.

ME

Yesterday, I blogged about my latest haul from Joann's and Meijer.  Well, I accompanied those stamps with Spellbinders Labels 17, Tim Holtz embossing folders, Copic markers, Core'dinations cardstock and Smooch Spritz to create six A2 cards.

Let me share with you the first card of the bunch:

Latest Loot

Each time I go to any store or go shopping online, I make sure to check out the clearance or specials section.  You just don't know what you'll see, and what you'll get.  Often times, I get lucky.  And because of that, I rarely buy anything in its MSRP anymore.  I know somewhere, somehow, I can get it cheaper.

On my last visit to Joann's, I saw these Studio G dollar stamps for only 50 cents each.

I had a 30% discount off total purchase coupon, so I ended up paying only 35 cents for each of these stamps.  Way cool huh?

Then at Meijer, I saw these washi tapes in their clearance section.

And if I remember it right, everything in that rack had an additional 70% off.  I only paid just a little over a dollar for all 5 rolls.  Now how can you say no to that?

I already had plans on making a card set with my latest haul.  And last weekend, I was able to make six cards, one for each stamp.  I colored each image with Copics, and cut with the same Spellbinders die.

I'll show each card in detail in the coming days.  For now, have a great week, crafty reader!  'Til next blog...

All for a Buck

Who doesn't like dollar stamps?  My visit to Michaels or Joanns won't be complete without digging through the dollar stamp bins.

For this new graduation card, I used a couple of my dollar stamps - one by Studio G, and the other by Michaels.

Materials used:
cardstock/dp - Recollections, ColorBok, leftovers
image/sentiment - Studio G, Michaels
ink - Tsukineko, Copic
tools - EK Success edge punches
adhesive - Scotch, mounting tape

This sentiment stamp by Michaels was heat embossed, then touched up with  Copic markers.  The rest of the images/sentiments are from a Studio G dollar stamp set.

It was also my first time to use the EK Success 2-in-1 Deep Edge Punch.  I sure like it!  You can see below the two designs on the two layers of the top flap.

I have one more graduation card to make, and my goal is to finish it before the weekend.  'Til next blog!

TOT Goodie Bags

So I spent my Tuesday night making goodie bags for Trick-or-Treaters.  I thought it wouldn't take that long, but I guess after 12 months, I have forgotten!

I made two batches - the "regular" and the "special" goodie bags.  They all have the same stuff inside, but the difference is how I made the bags.  All the stamps used are Studio G dollar stamps bought years ago.  Oh and yeah, I used "Glow In The Dark" embossing powder on the stamped images.  They look really cool in the dark!

The special TOT Goodie Bags had embossing and inking on it.  I also used a deep edge punch for the top rim.  They also have the some bling.

For the "regular" ones, I just used some leftover dp from last year's Halloween projects.

Materials used:
cardstock/dp:  DCWV, CostCo, leftovers
image/sentiment:  Studio G
ink:  Tsukineko
tools:  embossing folder (Cuttlebug, Sizzix), Martha Stewart edge punches, Spellbinders, heat gun
misc.:  Stampendous "Glow in the Dark" embossing powder
embellishments:  halloween plastic rings, rhinestones, ribbon
adhesive:  Scotch, Glue Dots, mounting tape

Well, I hope we have a good turnout tonight, with it being a regular week night.  And the weather hasn't been cooperating at all either.  Either way, our treat bags are ready to be taken and my carved pumpkins will be there to greet the TOTs.

Happy Halloween!!!

ID4 Cards

One of the American holidays that I look forward to is Independence Day.  I love how our small community gather at the park, young and old, and enjoy the festivities.  The volunteerism never fails to amaze me and the atmosphere is just wonderful and pleasant in our town during this time of the year.  In the evening, we all watch the fireworks, even those from nearby towns.  Our celebration may not be as grand as the big cities, but it has a more personal touch, which I like more.

Here is a card set I made for ID4.  I used the same dp and paper strips cut with the Tim Holtz Tattered Banners die.

Materials used:
cardstock/dp:  Wassau, Provo Craft, leftovers
image/sentiment:  Stampendous, Studio G, Unity
ink:  Stampin' Up, Copic, Tsukineko, Spica
tools:  Tim Holtz die, Creative Memories circle punch, Spellbinders, Crop-A-Dile, EK Success corner punch, Fiskars edge punch
embellishments:  brads, eyelets, sequins
adhesive:  Scotch, Zots, mounting tape

To see each card in detail, please click here.

Enjoy the 4th of July weekend, everyone!  And don't forget the main reason why this holiday is celebrated.

Celebrate

Here's another graduation card to share.  Just giving you a heads up that it's not my last grad card for the year yet.  Hee hee.  I enjoy making these type of cards anyway, and I'm glad I get to make a bunch of them every year.

Did I tell you that I just score an 8.5 x 11 cardstock at 4 and 8 inches (landscape)?  After folding, the shortest flap will serve as the pocket for a small gift, like a monetary bill or gift card.  And then you can cut the top flap with any edge punch.

Materials used:
cardstock/dp:  @theoffice, The Paper Company, ColorBok, leftovers
image/sentiment:  Studio G, Unity
ink:  Stampin' Up, Tsukineko, Spica
tools:  Spellbinders, EK Success
embellishments: Robin's Nest, brads
adhesive:  Scotch, mounting tape

Monday

My muse paid me a visit yesterday and I was able to make 2 cards.  Two of our nieces from DH's side are celebrating their birthday today.

The first card is for the one who's celebrating her 14th birthday.  I thought the image is perfect for her age.  My favorite part in this card is the bow.  I followed the video tutorial by one of my favorite card makers, Becca Feeken, which you can view here.

 I used the following materials:
  • Greeting Farm Miss Anya
  • Sentiment by Heidi Grace
  • Copic Markers
  • Shimmerz
  • Stickles
  • Spica Glitter Pen
  • Baubles
  • Nestabilities
  • Nature Preserve Premium Cardstock
  • Georgia Pacific Cardstock
  • ColorBok Ribbon
  • Ranger Super Fine Embossing Powder
  • Misc: leftover bg paper and cardstock

This next card is for an 11-year old girl.  She loves rabbits and that makes me so glad that I have a bunch of House Mouse stamps (thanks Claire!).

Materials used are the following:
